Three’s a Company

Three’s a Company

Nava, Miki, and Ilan have shared an unconventional family unit for five decades. The three live together in the same building and are raising May, their adopted daughter. Alongside their personal lives, they founded and continue to run a bold and iconic cultural institution — Tmuna Theater. Now, a necessary move from their crumbling building in Tel Aviv’s garage district to an alienating high-tech area threatens the theater’s character and unsettles the trio. Through intimate conversations and archival material, the three recount the personal home they built and the professional home that is their life’s work, asking: Will it be possible to preserve the spirit of the theater in its new home?
