The Woman in White

The Woman in White

Who was Tamar Golan, and why does she not appear in the history books? Was she a Mossad agent, or the lover of an Egyptian general or an African ruler? How did she influence the peace agreement between Israel and Egypt?

The woman who dressed in white and pulled the strings behind the scenes of Israel’s foreign policy invented a different kind of diplomacy—one rooted in personal relationships, eye contact, and the hosting of a political-cultural salon in Paris. She succeeded where official channels failed. And yet, her name never entered official records.

After her death, the filmmaker comes across Tamar’s private archive—diaries, recordings, and photographs. Through them, and with the help of those who knew her, the film leads us into the secrets she kept until the end.
