Sabena by Rani Sa’ar at the UK Jewish Film Festival
A heart-pounding account of one of history’s most dramatic terrorist hijacks. May 8 1972: four Black September hijackers stormed Sabena flight 571 en route to Tel Aviv, taking hostages and demanding the release of political prisoners. Stunningly combining dramatised re-enactments, archive footage, and fascinating interviews with key figures from both sides – including Shimon Peres, two Israeli Prime Ministers, and one of the female hijackers – this is an astonishing insight behind a flashpoint from the era of terrorist hijackings.
